The primary outcomes of interest were turnaround time of referrals for febrile returned travellers postimplementation. Secondary outcomes of interest included: number of repeat ED visits prior to the RAFT clinic visit (ideally 0-1 day later), bed-usage averted for repeat 24 hour malaria screening and adherence to the algorithm regarding laboratory investigations.
