Document: Respiratory diseases caused by viral agents are one of the most critical problems in public health, as every year they are responsible for high rates of morbidity and mortality, mainly of young children, the elderly and immunocompromised individuals (Talbot and Falsey, 2010; Tregoning and Schwarze, 2010; Englund et al., 2011) . The most common respiratory viruses that affect susceptible population are human orthopneumovirus-previously known as human respiratory syncytial virus (hRSV), influenza virus (IV), coronavirus (CoV) and human metapneumovirus (hMPV; Nichols et al., 2008) . The transmission of these viruses is mainly by contact with fomites or suspension droplets (Kutter et al., 2018) . All these viruses have in common the ability to produce bronchiolitis and pneumonia, being responsible for large numbers of hospitalizations every winter season (Nichols et al., 2008; Talbot and Falsey, 2010; Tregoning and Schwarze, 2010) .
