The RNPs were purified by gel filtration chromatography, and the integrity of the RNA moiety was confirmed by denaturing polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis followed by ethidium bromide staining (Supplementary Figure S1B ). Western blot analysis demonstrated that the AluY A and the scAluY A RNPs contained, respectively, two and one molecules of h9/14 per molecule of RNA (Supplementary Figure S1C ).
