Perceptions of postoutbreak management by management and healthcare workers of a Middle East respiratory syndrome outbreak in a tertiary care hospital: a qualitative study

This work can serve as a tool to guide organizational actions for the control of rare infectious outbreaks in an advanced health care setting. Although this research was conducted by independent researchers with participants well placed to provide insights into the management of the outbreak, it included a selected group of participants, whose perspectives may differ from the broader population. Staff perspectives may have been influenced by the time duration since the outbreak was curtailed. Finally, decision-makers, who are very well informed about the outbreak management, have shared in the interviews, and we cannot rule out a possible conflict of interest.
