A comprehensive objective analysis of this outbreak 10 identified that one third of cases were in health care workers, with half of cases occurring in ED staff (overall mean age: 37 years; 77% female). 10 Infected patients who were not health care workers had a median age of 66 years and 65% were male. 10 No deaths occurred among health care workers. 10 Symptom onset in the last infected patient was August 28, 2015; the end perceptions of risk 12 and psychological reactions, 13 to similar respiratory viruses have been explored, to our knowledge, this is the first study of stakeholder perspectives of the factors promoting and inhibiting effective emergency management of MERS-CoV. Generated from the world's second largest recorded outbreak of MERS-CoV to date, this study seeks to provide useful lessons to assist in the management of future similar outbreaks.
