The total number of detected and missed BVD cattle as well as the total cost were calculated as outputs of the default or scenarios and were compared to evaluate the efficacy of the measures in each scenario. The scenario tree was developed in an Microsoft Excel (Microsoft, Redmond, WA, U.S.A.) using the software @Risk 6 (Palisade Corp., Newfield, NY, U.S.A.) and was run using 10,000 iterations.
