Prophylactic group mice were pretreated via the intranasal route with 200 g of EK1 per mouse 30 min before viral challenge. Challenged mice were monitored daily for weight loss and mortality. In the interim, two mice were randomly euthanized (two of six) in each group at day 2 after challenge to determine the lung virus titers by CPE on Vero E6 and expressed as TCID 50 /ml.
