At present in the USA there are only two licensed adjuvants, although other adjuvanted vaccines are licensed in other parts of the world, and many more have been tested in human and animal trials. This review will highlight recent work in adjuvant development for HIV-1 vaccines with particular emphasis on antibody responses.
