In our double-hit model, treatment with lopinavir/ritonavir impaired the structure of the nuclear lamina, decreasing the abundance of Lamin-A ( Figure 6A ), and decreased lung injury ( Figure 6B ) and apoptotic cell count ( Figure 6C ). This interference with the nuclear lamina was related to lower counts of SAHF ( Figure 6D ). Although abundance of gH2Ax was not modified by this treatment (Figure 6E ), there was a marked decrease in HP1a ( Figure 6F ). Panel 6G shows representative blots of these measurements.
