Electroporation almost certainly acts by increasing uptake of vaccine DNA into cells and through minor tissue damage that stimulates damage-associated PRRs that recruit an inflammatory response. Further testing will be needed to determine whether electroporation can be implemented so as to reduce side-effects yet remain effective.
