Perceptions of postoutbreak management by management and healthcare workers of a Middle East respiratory syndrome outbreak in a tertiary care hospital: a qualitative study

Excluding the top nine decision-makers who were invited directly to participate, recruitment was undertaken via volunteer quota sampling of staff from across the hospital. Interviews were carried out in the clinical institution by independent researchers with no direct involvement with the site. Data collection schedules were developed from past literature, approaches to were audio-recorded via a digital device with data transcribed immediately after data collection. Interviews continued till we reached data saturation. Each interview/group lasted between 45-100 minutes; transcripts included non-verbal behavior. To supplement these data, written documentation (Appendix 1) was also analyzed to direct the questions posed during the qualitative data collection.
