E. coli 0111:B4 lipopolysaccharide (LPS) (Sigma-Aldrich, cat#L3012, Ec#297-473-0, lot#WI150506) was dissolved in saline and used at a dose of 0.1 mg/kg, i.p. This dose of LPS was chosen because it is the minimum effective dose to elicit pro-inflammatory cytokine response and sickness behavior in mice (Berg et al., 2004) . author/funder.
