They are induced by various stimuli and contribute to cell apoptosis by cutting various cell substrates (Fan et al., 2005; Nuñez et al., 1998; Riedl and Shi, 2004) . The results showed that preserved egg digests can significantly induced the cell apoptosis by up-regulating caspase-3 levels in Caco-2 cells.
