The present study shows that the nurses experience stress during the mission, possibly due to concerns about unsafety and responsibility, as well as the unfamiliarity of the surroundings. Targeted measures, proper responses, and good community support can effectively lower stress to ensure the nurses' physical and mental health, and enable them to play better roles during international aid missions.
