Notably, the levels of IFN-γ and IL-10 and ratio of IFN-γ to IL-10 (IFN-γ/IL-10 ratio) in non-survivors was significantly higher than in survivors ( Table 4 ). The levels of IFN-γ were only associated with a fatal outcome and were not influenced by MeV, ADV-B, or bacterial/ fungal infection (Fig. 1A) .
