Secondary outcomes were duration of mechanical ventilation, tracheostomy during ICU stay, length of ICU and total hospital stay, and in-hospital, 28-day, and 60-day mortality. The study protocol was approved by the Institutional Review Board of Pusan National University Hospital (C-1708-028-058). The requirement for informed consent was waived, since the study was retrospective and all patient records were anonymized and de-identified prior to analysis.
