Similarly, one patient with MERS-CoV transferred from Saudi Arabia to South Korea was linked to 186 additional MERS-CoV cases [8] . COVID-19 could foster a similar scenario. In global public health systems struggling with sub-optimal resources and inadequate infrastructure, this could be a recipe for disaster.
