All patients tested positive for MERS-COV using RT-PCR. The definition of leukopenia was a leukocyte count <4.0 ×109 cells/L, lymphopenia as a lymphocyte count <1.5 × 109 cells/L, thrombocytopenia as a platelet count <140 × 109 cells/L, aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase elevations as having levels twice the upper reference limit (34 U/L and 55 U/L, respectively). Elevated lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) was considered as LDH level >2 times the upper normal level of 280 U/L. Day one is the first day of admission and subsequent days after admission are based on this calculation. Laboratory data were collected for 21 days after admission.
