Document: The authors responded to most points raised in the review of their article submitted to EMBO Journal. However, we feel that the following points need to be addressed prior to publication in EMBO reports. Taken together, the aim of our study was to uncover the heterogeneity of the microglial responses under early acute inflammatory conditions to elucidate potential beneficial signatures of subpopulations that could contribute to resolve inflammation, thus avoiding to enter into a chronic phase, which could lead to neurodegeneration.
