Dogs with a temperature greater than 102.5°F at admission had a 3.1 greater hazard for death (95% CI 1.3, 7.7; P = 0.013) than dogs with a body temperature of less than 102.5°F at admission. Dogs without gallbladder distension on ultrasound had a 4.4 greater hazard for death (95% CI 1.3, 15.4; P = 0.018) compared to dogs with gallbladder distension.
