Early and aggressive therapy with broad-spectrum antibiotics is recommended. Clinical severity did not affect outcome in this group of dogs. Medical records of 22 dogs (age 6.27 + /-2.83 years) with MUE that received cytarabine were reviewed. MRI and CSF findings were used to confirm the diagnosis of MUE. Data was reported as mean+/-SD or median (range) as appropriate. Student's t-test or Wilcoxon rank sums were used for comparisons, and correlation was assessed by Spearman rank correlation and simple linear regression.
