Samples were activated for 5 hours with phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate and ionomycin, RNA was extracted, and relative gene quantification was performed comparing gene expression after drug administration to pre-treatment levels. Additionally, for one week after cessation of cyclosporine, daily blood samples were collected for evaluation of IL-2 and IFN-c gene expression.
