Thereby, the distribution of CAV1 became discontinuous on the cell surface and gathered into a cluster. Consequently, the extent of the co-localization of TPIC and CAV1 was greatly reduced, and only a small number of overlapping spots appeared, suggesting the important effect of caveolae on the internalization of TPIC.
