    Document: Community-acquired pneumonia is caused by various bacteria. Similar distributions of these bacteria are seen between Korea and other countries. Bacteria such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Haemophilus influenzae, and Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Chlamydophila pneumoniae, and Legionella pneumophila, which are classified as causative bacteria of atypical pneumonia, and respiratory bacteria can cause pneumonia. However, it is difficult to differentiate between these causative bacteria in the early period after hospital admission. Study findings about the major causative bacteria of community-acquired pneumonia in Korea are summarized in Table 1 [11] [12] [13] . Legionella were especially more common for cases of moderate to severe pneumonia requiring ICU admission compared with other atypical pneumococcal bacteria.
