Document: The current study concurs with a number of scholars who have argued that the lived experiences of people living with HIV do not mirror the medical refrain of HIV as a chronic disease (Mazanderani & Paparini, 2015; McGrath et al., 2014; Moyer & Hardon, 2014; Persson, 2013) . Despite efforts to refashion HIV as a chronic disease, it remains incurable and infectious (McGrath et al., 2014) . The journey of those with HIV towards living "normal lives" post-ART is not linear, and the building or rebuilding of their lives and maintaining them requires a lot of effort (Seeley & Russell, 2010) .
