The detection efficiency, for instance, may changes as contact tracing and testing are ramped up or down. Similarly, the daily infectivity may also be function of the community setting. The fact that these two parameters can be related to real changes in conditions is an advantage since they allow the effect of any changes in conditions to quantified. As the body of data on the relationship between these parameters and real conditions grows, the model will become increasingly reliable and definitive.
