Similarly, the regression between virus diversity, a subset of PSR, and sampling effort significantly explained 46% of the virus diversity variation (P < 0.0001). Species were ordered by residual values (Fig. 1B) . Hipposideros armiger carried the greatest number of viruses above predictions by the linear regression model, whereas Cynopterus sphinx hosted the fewest viruses.
