Through systematic comparison of the gene expression data of these cell lines, we determined that the expression of PRSS family genes (including PRSS1, PRSS2, and PRSS3) was higher in the cetuximabresistant cell lines than that in the cetuximab-sensitive cell lines ( Fig. 1A and table S1). Accordingly, we hypothesized that PRSS genes may contribute to cetuximab resistance.
