Document: Aerobic bacterial isolates growth and susceptibility data were collected retrospectively from urine cultures of dogs with CKD and significant bacteriuria seen at two veterinary teaching hospitals between January 2010 and June 2016. A significant bacteriuria was defined as finding growth of at least 1000 CFU/mL of urine collected by cystocentesis. Treatment with antimicrobial within one month preceding sampling was an exclusion criteria. MDR was defined as resistance to one agent in at least three separate antimicrobial categories for which the wild type bacteria would normally be susceptible, whereas possible extremeâ€drug resistance (XDR) was defined as resistance to all except 2 or fewer antimicrobial categories tested.
