Document: Similarly to previous studies, German Shepherd and Terriers were overrepresented. Less common breeds were also reported namely Beauceron and American Staffordshire which, despite being a terrier, has not been previously associated with this disease. The biochemical incidental finding of increased liver‐enzymes emphasizes the silent progression of the disease. Although US abnormalities were inconsistent, the heterogenous mottled liver was a common finding. Centrilobular pattern of rhodanine staining observed in the majority of cases strengthens the primary condition of the disease. In the three cases in which a peri‐portal distribution was observed, copper‐deposition was believed to be secondary to cholestasis.
