Document: Standard 6‐leads ECGs were retrospectively analysed from the clinical database of the Istituto Veterinario of Novara. MEA of the QRS complex was calculated with the isoelectric lead method. A total of 1333 dogs were included. IQRS axis was identified in 8/1333 dogs, with an overall prevalence of 0.6%. Among the 8 dogs presenting iQRS axis, 6 did not have any cardio‐structural abnormality, and the remaining 2 dogs had severe right ventricular enlargement secondary to pulmonic stenosis (n=1) and tricuspid valve dysplasia (n=1). Among healthy dogs presenting iQRS axis, 6/6 (100%) had a deep‐chested thoracic morphotype. No significant differences were found between dogs with and without iQRS axis regarding age (4.3 years, range 1‐12 years versus 9.1 years, range 2‐13 years; P=0.171) and body weight (24 kg, range 13‐29 kg versus 21 kg, range 23‐34 kg; P=0.646).
