Title: On the stability of sequences inserted into viral genomes Document date: 2019_11_14

Snippet: Similarly, genes expressing foreign antigens can be cloned into recombinant measles virus where measles virus proteins and inserted genes are coexpressed. This relatively small vector can accept large gene insertions, that in most cases are stably expressed (Billeter, Naim, and Udem 2009; Malczyk et al. 2015) . For example, for the development of a vaccine against Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV), it has been shown that a r.....

This relatively small vector can accept large gene insertions, that in most cases are stably expressed (Billeter, Naim, and Udem 2009; Malczyk et al. 2015) . For example, for the development of a vaccine against Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV), it has been shown that a recombinant measles virus expressing the spike glycoprotein of MERS-CoV is genetically stable in vitro and induces strong humoral and cellular immunity in vivo (Malczyk et al. 2015) .
