Scanning electron microscopy, surface profilometry, Raman, and conductance measurement are used to verify the RGO nanogrid structure. The combined effects of quantum dot like transport behaviours, insignificant line edges, and improved interaction of molecules within the nanopores make this biosensor ultrasensitive, able to detect up to 50 aM, which is currently the highest detection level of graphene oxide nanogrid technology.
