In both HET and CNM dogs, a slight left ventricular hypertrophy was detected using conventional echocardiography. TDI and strain imaging revealed that the left ventricular myocardial function was significantly altered in both HET and CNM dogs compared to WT dogs. Moreover, these functional defects were associated with significantly higher values of systemic arterial blood pressure, although maintained within normal ranges.
