The amplification efficiencies for the six candidate reference genes ranged between 95.3% and 109.30%. The melting curves of the six pairs of primers were single, smooth and sharply defined with a narrow peak, suggesting all the six pairs of primers produce pure and homogeneous products. Thus, all the primers for the six candidate reference gene were specific and suitable for further qRT-PCR assays.
