Out of the 6 mRNA candidate reference genes, ACTB (Ct 22.01), B2M (Ct 22.95) and PPIA (Ct 23.29) had high expression levels, followed by RPL4 (Ct 25.34), TBP (Ct 29.37), and GAPDH (Ct 30.42) with the lowest level. When expression values were compared between samples with or without Poly I:C stimulation, only ACTB was expressed differentially (p< 0.05) in PBMC samples, while no significant difference was observed for the other genes in the whole blood as well as in PBMC samples.
