Thirty cases of DLBCL meeting all inclusion criteria were included from the initial population. Seven dogs were in clinical stage III according to the WHO classification, 19 in stage IV and 4 in stage V. Nineteen dogs were in substage a, and 11 in substage b. On 26 dogs which have an adequate response evaluation, 20 dogs (76.9%) achieved a complete remission. The median and mean duration of first remission were 175d and 239d, respectively (range 68-725 d). The median and mean durations of survival time were respectively 311d and 319d (range 55-818 d). One year and 2-years survival rates were 32% and 3% respectively. According to the statistical analysis, neither clinical stage (p = 0.726) nor substage at presentation (p = 0.83) or morphological subtype (immunoblastic vs centroblastic polymorphic, p = 0.216) were considered as a significant prognostic factor regarding the duration of the first remission and the overall survival time. A complete response was significantly associated with longer survival times (p = 0.019).
