Recently, oral trazodone administered to cats prior to a veterinary visit decreased anxiety greater than placebo and was well tolerated. While trazodone is a promising drug for reducing veterinary care related anxiety in cats, its effects on echocardiographic and hemodynamic variables are unknown. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of oral trazodone on echocardiographic variables, heart rate, and blood pressure in healthy cats.
