A Trial of Active Learning Method for Business Management Education in Online Environment

Recently, with the spread of active learning (AL), various types of teaching methods have been proposed in the field of business management education. However, in the current situation where face-to-face group work with a large number of people is restricted due to the influence of Coronavirus (COVID19) disaster, it is necessary to carry out such learning in an online environment, but the implementation method and effect are unknown. In this situation, we conducted a trial of an active learning method based on the PDCA cycle in order to draw out the active nature of the participants and to obtain learning effects through “dialogue” in an online environment. Furthermore, we conducted group work in an online environment for 48 university students, evaluated the effects, and considered the points when conducting such learning online. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
