Additional efforts are needed to resolve the intermediate stages of nanocarrier delivery to gain a better understanding of which processes are crucial for effective delivery. Hence, the approach shows great potential as a novel method to discriminate and improve gene delivery systems with respect to delivery timing and efficiency.
