It was detectable in patient's blood after 3 -6 days while IgG, the most abundant type of antibody, could be measured after 8 days. Positive IgM and IgG tests for SARA-CoV-2 antibodies detected in patient's blood sample mean that it is likely that the individual became infected with SARA-CoV-2 recently or at the early stage of infection. If only the IgG is positive, then it is probable that the person had an infection sometime in the past or in the late stage of virus infection. Hence, in order to be applicable for different stages of COVID-19, combined detection of IgG and IgM antibodies were recommended.
