Document: The estimates reflect large differences in testing policies between countries, see Table 3 . In particular, there is a large variance in testing between the European countries. Countries with similar wealth to Germany, such as France, UK, Sweden, Netherlands or Belgium perform significantly less intensive testing relative to the state of the epidemic. Germany conducted nearly 500 tests per recorded death, whereas those countries conducted 25 to 60 tests per recorded death. The is a strong negative correlation equal -0.82 between correction factor computed for the country and a logarithm of the number of tests performed per recorded death, confirms the initial assumption that inadequate testing leads to under-reporting of infections.
