Our study shows the potential impact of PPEs and other aggressive infection control measures Importantly, our study also shows that aggressive infection control measures including the use PPEs by all healthcare workers and not just high-risk workers should be considered. Implementation of such strategies will have to be balanced against the potential shortages in the high risk patient care areas, increased cost of healthcare delivery, decrease in the efficiency of care delivery, and in some cases potential for increase in the risk of infection if proper donning and doffing procedures are not adopted.
