Use of model and demographic-informed sampling schemes are valuable for projections that evaluate interventions, but are dependent on accurate parameterization. While in our examples we used POLYMOD and other contact matrices, these represent the status quo ante, and should be updated to the extent possible using other data, such as those obtainable from surveys (8, 9) and mobility data from online platforms and mobile phones (17-19).
