Murine norovirus, a non-enveloped virus, was treated with ViroSAL and added to cultures of RAW264.7 murine macrophages or BV2 murine microglial cells. There was no significant difference between control treated virus and ViroSAL treated virus infectivity in either cell type tested ( Figure 4A ). This indicates that, in contrast to ViroSAL's effect on enveloped viruses, ViroSAL does not inhibit infection with norovirus, a non-enveloped virus.
