Treatment of orf virions with 1% ViroSAL, which neutralized approximately 50% infection in infection assays ( Figure 3B ), appeared to disrupt the external viral envelope, which remained associated with the virions ( Figure 5B ). Treatment with 3% ViroSAL, which completely neutralized in vitro infectivity ( Figure 3B ) disrupted virion morphology and the lattice-like structure present on intact virions ( Figure 5C ).
