However, the involvement of innate immunity was clarified for hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), which has been confirmed to be very effective for cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE). This review introduces the mechanism of development of CLE from the viewpoint of autoantibodies, cytokines, and innate immunity.
