Document: The news of the new coronavirus infection was received with great excitement by the medical and patient community with cystic fibrosis, taking into account the possible consequences for patients. Objective: During the period from the beginning of the pandemic from March 1 to October 1, 2020, 10 cases of COVID-19 in children and adolescents with cystic fibrosis (CF) were analysed (according to the organising committee of the CF Registry) in comparison with 85,282 sick children from the general population of children and adolescents of the Russian Federation. Methods: Detection of 2019-nCoV coronavirus RNA by PCR or ELISA of class M and G immunoglobulins for SARS-CoV-2. Results: As of October 1, the incidence of COVID-19 was 340:100,000 for children and 840:100,000 for adults. Among 10 children with CF (boys −90%, girls −10%) there were no children under 1y.o. (in the population- 12.4%), in the group 1–3y.o −20% (in the population −15.8%), in the group 4–7 y.o.- 40% (in the comparison group - 20.3%), in the group >8 y.o. −40%, (in the comparison group 51.5%). Among children with CF, 1 child of 1y.o. was hospitalised (10% of all cases), in the general population – 34,912 (40.93%). The ratio of children treated on an outpatient basis and in a hospital in the population was 1: 2.2, with CF 1:10. Pneumonia in children with CF and COVID-19 was registered in 3 children (30%), and in children in the general population - 9.7%. Asymptomatic course was observed in 3 patients (30%) with CF. The main symptom of CF was fever (60%) and in the population −7.5%, increased cough and weakness were in 50% of children with CF, in the population - 37% and 35.4%, respectively. Conclusion: The incidence among children with CF was less common than in adults, and there was a different age structure of children with COVID-19 among patients with CF and in the population. Pneumonia and fever and abdominal syndrome were more common in patients with COVID-19 with CF than in the general population.
