In March 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a novel pandemic of the coronavirus disease 2019 , an infection caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) (He et al., 2020) . Since then, New York City (NYC) has emerged as the global epicenter of this pandemic, with nearly one million cases and hundreds of thousands of deaths attributed to COVID-19 as of April 22, 2020, according to John's Hopkins University (JHU) Coronavirus Resource Center (https://coronavirus.jhu.edu).
