Finally, when we examined all known human proteases for co-expression with ACE2 in major lung epithelial cell types (Fig. 6f) , we recovered cathepsins (CTSB, CTSC, CTSD, CTSL, CTSS), proteasome subunits (e.g. PSMB2, PSMB4, PSMB5), and complement proteases (C1R, C2, CFI) (Fig. 6f, Extended Data Fig. 15 ), the latter also captured in our programs above (Fig. 4) .
